John Allison successfully completed the Mud Runner Oblivion in aid of the Trust!
Here is what he had to say about the challenge:
'Mud Runner Oblivion was billed as a 10 km race around an extreme cross-country course situated in the picturesque grounds of Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire. In reality the race route primarily consisted of a track used by Land Rover to test its new vehicles to destruction, so we had to negotiate deep bog, tortuous slopes, waist deep water and obstacles erected by the Mud Runner team. To make it a little more interesting, the organisers added a military style assault course wall, a lake crossing and rope climb just before the finish.
According to the results, 1164 adults took part on the day and allegedly I was the 404th person across the line so at least I didn't come last! A great day was had by all and I would thoroughly recommend the event.
I would like to say a very big thank you to everyone for their generosity. In the end we raised £460 for a valuable cause.'
We would love to hear from you if you know of any soldier (whether current or past), family member or any project that might benefit from our help.
