Jules Neave, who generously volunteered to use his Marathon place to raise funds for the DDMT, raced on sunny London streets through cheering crowds (including a few Morris's at Mile 12 and friends and family elsewhere) to bring thousands of well earned pounds to those whom DDMT support. Anyone who witnessed all those runners, will know what an immense amount of effort, training and sheer hard work went into the preparation for this Marathon achievement.
Before the race Julian wrote:
"I've followed the DDMT and had a close look at the website. It's a great charity and I'd love to raise any money I can for the DDMT. With less than three weeks to go I know I've left this late but hopefully every little helps."
"I am sure that you will appreciate that running does not come naturally to me. In the last three months I think I’ve run more than in the rest of life and I’m still technically obese!"
After the race this last sentence can surely no longer be true .....
A huge thank you to Jules and to everyone who sponsored him!
We would love to hear from you if you know of any soldier (whether current or past), family member or any project that might benefit from our help.
