Camberley Heath Golf Club's Captain's Charity and Fundraising Day was held on 24 October. Richard Broderick, Trustee James's father, has already raised significant funds for DDMT as Captain and on the 24th hosted 18 teams to a fundraising tournament and lunch to raise money for his charities, the DDMT and Help for Heroes. Richard writes: "The weather had been miserable all week but on the day we had glorious weather which made all the difference to a great day of golf."
The Coldstream Guards entered a team and even though they didn’t win had a good score. A team also entered under the banner of Help for Heroes and again had a good round. Lunch was followed by an auction and raffle which altogether raised around £7,000.
Golf South picked up the story shortly afterwards with a tremendous article and a superb picture of Louis Smit who reached the bunkers in front of the 18th green with this shot.
