Our loyal supporter Jill Palmer is hosting a reception and talk at Dorney Court near Windsor at the end of March. Drinks and canapés will be served in the Great Hall followed by a talk on the SOE in the Coach House Barn.
The Special Operations Executive was a British WWII organisation formed to conduct espionage, sabotage and reconnaissance in occupied Europe. Gilly Halcrow is an accomplished speaker and the daughter of an SOE veteran. Her talk is a tribute to all the brave men and women who participated in these critical yet perilous operations.
Dorney Court is a grade I listed early Tudor manor house, dating from around 1440, located in the village of Dorney, Buckinghamshire. It is owned and lived in by the Palmer family.
The night promises to be a fascinating insight into some of the missions that achieved amazing success and helped shorten the war.
We would love to hear from you if you know of any soldier (whether current or past), family member or any project that might benefit from our help.
