23 February: Atlantic Drifters Arrive: First Pair in Antigua!

The DDMT Team is thrilled to have received this incredible update from Jo Brunwin and immensely honoured and proud to be a chosen charity from such a magnificent achievement:

"Tom and Dave arrived into English Harbour, Antigua in the early hours of Monday 1st February with a crossing time of 43 days 16 hours and 18 minutes, winning the Pure Pairs Class.  They followed a routine of 1 hour on and 1 hour rest for the entire crossing, surviving on cold rations throughout, and without any communications for the last two weeks.

We are all very proud of their achievement and delighted to confirm that they have now raised over £35,000 to be shared between DDMT and OAKS.

Talisker have created a great video (http://youtu.be/PYdnzzut5T0) which tracks all of the pairs and has some great footage of the Drifters.

The donations are still coming in and we are hoping to run some more events over the coming months in the hope of reaching the £40k mark."

Tom and Dave, from all the DDMT Team, and we are sure from Dougie up above too, enormous thanks and admiration.  Tom and Dave arrive
