A record turnout for the Golf Day this year and a magnificent £11,000 + grossed.
The participants were swiftly given their marching orders by our volunteers Gilly Palmer, Jacquie Broderick and Tricia Morris and set off for their tees in time for the 8.15 start, having been well fuelled with coffee, tea and bacon buns in the Swinley Forest Club House.
Anthony Dalzell has since sent this report:
"The course was in amazing condition despite the drought in 2018. The weather forecast was not good but in the end there was no rain and some sunshine - good golfing weather.
The turnout was the best ever - 76 players assembled in fours across the course for the start at 8.30am.
The club's catering was, as usual, exceptional and very much enjoyed by all. James Broderick was the Master of Ceremonies for the prize giving. Two teams drew with the highest score (49 points) - Roddy Priestley & Euan Davidson and Andrew Broderick & Jonathan Humm. Colette Dalzell presented the Tournament Silver Salver to Andrew and Jonathan, who won on a count back."
